How to Use the GONE Fishing Interactive Map

Stop spending your fishing day searching for the boat or casting beside the deep water you wanted to reach. The GONE Fishing interactive map helps you locate bait, structures, enemy spawns, and fishing depths across Lake, Swamp, Canyon, Jungle, and Arctic. Use the GONE Fishing interactive map alongside your in-game landmarks to plan a route, reach your fishing spot, and keep the return trip manageable.

Open Interactive Map from the website’s Tools & Maps navigation. Select your region, then use the filters to display the locations you need. Turn on Depth Heatmap when you want to compare fishing areas.

Start with these deep-water targets:

RegionDepth targetNavigation landmarks
Lake4,000+Cliff beyond the route past Jeb and Goldfish Cave
Swamp6,000+Cave water reached by fan boat near Jeb
Canyon8,000–9,000Open water reached by boat from below Jeb
Jungle: brackish waterAround 5,000–5,200Trees across the water from base
Jungle: ocean9,000+Offshore from Bait Island’s tree and treehouse
ArcticAround 9,000Channel to the right of the boat area

These numbers describe fishing locations. Bait score and progression also matter when targeting legendary and mythic catches.

Use the heatmap to narrow your search, then check depth with an actual cast before settling into a fishing session.

Read the Filters, Grid, and Custom Pins

The GONE Fishing interactive map includes separate layers for structures, enemies, loot, bait, and vehicles. Keeping every layer visible helps with exploration, but hiding unrelated markers makes a specific route easier to follow.

Use Show All or Hide All to reset the display, then enable the categories relevant to your trip. The labeled grid runs from A1 through H8. Keep it visible when discussing a location with friends; use Hide Grid when you want an unobstructed view.

To save a location, enable Drop pins and tap the map. Custom pins save locally, and the interface includes Export and Clear All controls. It also provides a separate Share View option.

Mark a spot after checking it in-game. Useful pin locations include your boat access, a reliable casting position, and the route back toward the cabin.

Understand What the Depth Layer Shows

The depth heatmap draws on recorded catches. Dense clusters reflect areas where anglers have caught fish, so use those clusters to identify places worth checking.

Spawn markers need a different reading. Bait and loot locations rotate, and the map’s spawn coverage reflects Peaceful and Average Angler play. Jeremy Wade difficulty has less bait, so a marked location does not guarantee the same collection opportunities.

Build a route through several nearby bait locations instead of relying on one marker.

Lake and Swamp: Find the Deep-Water Routes

Use the GONE Fishing interactive map to connect landmarks before leaving the cabin. Both Lake and Swamp have useful stops along the way to their deeper fishing areas.

Lake: Follow the Cave Route Beyond Jeb

For the walking route to Lake’s deep spot:

  1. Leave the cabin and head right.
  2. Follow the path around to the cave and pass through it.
  3. Turn left after exiting, following the route through the reeds toward Jeb.
  4. Continue around and follow the next reed-lined passage.
  5. Locate Goldfish Cave, then take the nearby route up the cliff.

Goldfish Cave contains a goldfish, bait crates, and minnow traps toward the back. The nearby water reaches into the 3,000 range, but the cliff fishing position gives access to water exceeding 4,000.

Check your casting distance here. A very short cast reaches roughly 3,000, while casting farther reaches the deeper pocket.

The flat area also provides room for a Worm Horn and a Chasm Caller setup. Place your travel equipment around the fishing position you intend to reuse.

For version 1.0, Lake also contains the mythic Rhizo in deep water. Catching it requires the MOBY rod, which unlocks after defeating the boss. Reaching the deep spot alone does not complete that preparation.

Swamp: Take the Fan Boat Toward the Cave

From the cabin, travel through the mangroves and continue past the nearby cabin toward Jeb. The fan boat is beside his location.

Take the boat toward the cave area. A standing position along the cave’s edge provides casting access to roughly 3,500 depth. To reach water exceeding 6,000, continue by boat and use the cave’s tree and wall as alignment landmarks.

Make short test casts while adjusting your position. Once you find the deeper pocket, mark it for the return trip.

The Swamp rework also added a 10% bait-score bonus for fishing in caves. Include that bonus when comparing your bait score between fishing locations.

Canyon: Separate the Dock, Rock Bridge, and Deep Spot

Canyon has several distinct fishing positions. Check which one you are navigating toward before following a cluster on the GONE Fishing interactive map.

The cabin dock provides water reaching into the thousands. It also offers a nearby location for minnow fishing.

Farther along the map, the rock bridge leads to the location commonly called the 3K spot. Short casts reach the nearer water, while a longer cast can reach around 7,000 depth.

To continue toward the deepest area:

  1. Follow the route toward the boat instead of crossing the rock bridge.
  2. Continue along the side of the map toward Jeb.
  3. Reach the boat and travel beneath Jeb’s location.
  4. Move into the open-water fishing area and test short casts for depths around 8,000–9,000.

Watch the alligator near Jeb as you approach. Leave enough space to reach the boat without running directly into it.

The deep-water route is relevant when pursuing Canyon’s Dunk and megalodon, but keep your bait score in mind alongside depth.

Drop a custom pin after locating the pocket. A fish placed in the water can also serve as an in-game marker; it is something you place yourself, rather than a permanent landmark to search for.

Jungle: Choose Brackish Water or the Ocean

Jungle needs extra attention because its fishing targets occupy different water types. The stingray belongs to brackish water, while giant squid and sperm whale fishing takes you into the ocean.

Use the GONE Fishing interactive map to identify both the destination and the boat route.

Jungle locationDepthTarget or activity
Water directly off the cabin dockAround 600–700Short casts and minnow bucketing
Brackish pocket across from baseAround 5,200Deep brackish-water fishing for stingray
Second brackish pocket near another treeAround 5,000Another short-cast brackish position
Ocean beyond Bait Island9,000+Giant squid and sperm whale fishing

Reach the Brackish Pockets

From the cabin area, take the walkway through the treehouse and cross the bridge. The gambling pit is toward the right; head left to reach the boat.

Bring the boat around toward the water across from base. One deep pocket sits near a tree used as a shoreline reference and reaches around 5,200. Continue toward the next tree for another pocket around 5,000.

Both positions allow short casts once you have placed the boat correctly. You can also reach deep brackish water with longer casts from the dock or bridge.

From the boat pickup area, head left through the bamboo toward the island ahead. Keep the lighthouse as a reference while traveling around Bait Island.

Use the island’s tree and treehouse to line up your offshore route. Continue outward and test casts until you reach the 9,000-plus area.

Pin your successful position and retain the island and lighthouse as return landmarks. Keep brackish and ocean locations distinct when comparing catches; depth alone does not describe the fishing area.

Arctic: Compare the 5K Spot With the 9K Channel

Arctic offers deep fishing near several useful landmarks. The GONE Fishing interactive map helps connect the boat, Jeb, gambling pit, and nearby casting areas.

Arctic locationDepth or featurePositioning detail
Water near the boat areaAround 1,700Accessible with short casts
Four-ice-formation pocketAround 5,000Cast into the middle of the group
Other nearby deep waterAround 7,000+Check depth as you move between locations
Channel route right of the boat areaAround 9,000Travel through the channel, then test short casts

For the 5,000-depth position, look for the group of four ice formations and cast between them. Jeb and the nearby terrain help orient the route. This area provides access to both orca and colossal squid, with bait score remaining part of the preparation.

For the deeper position, head right from the boat area and travel through the channel. Check short casts until you reach the 9,000-depth water, then save the position with a pin.

Plan bait collection alongside the trip. Arctic’s large layout makes travel time relevant, and minnow traps provide an ongoing bait supply. In version 1.0, bait traps catch overnight and become harvestable each morning.

Also account for the Yeti during intense snowy weather. In version 1.0, ignoring its tribute requests escalates the encounter, including item theft and eventual transportation to Yeti Island.

Before setting out, check three things: your fishing destination, your bait supply, and your route home.

FAQ

Where can I find the GONE Fishing interactive map?

Open Interactive Map under the website’s Tools & Maps navigation. Select your region, then enable the depth heatmap and the marker categories you need.

Does the map save custom pins?

Yes. Enable Drop pins, then tap a location. Pins save locally, and the custom-pin controls include an Export option.

Why is bait missing from a marked spawn?

Spawns rotate, and difficulty affects bait availability. The mapped spawn coverage reflects Peaceful and Average Angler play; Jeremy Wade difficulty has less bait.

Do legendary and mythic fish require the deepest spot?

Several targets can be caught outside a region’s deepest pocket. Arctic’s roughly 5,000-depth position supports orca and colossal squid fishing. Match the water type and bait score to your target, and complete specific requirements such as obtaining the MOBY rod for Lake’s Rhizo in version 1.0.
