Where to Go on the Jungle Map
The GONE Fishing jungle map puts deep fishing water within reach, but dangerous wildlife can turn a bait run into a disaster. Learning the routes between your cabin, the altar, and the offshore islands helps you spend more daylight catching fish and meeting quota. Start your GONE Fishing jungle map run by locating the altar, checking nearby fishing access, and planning a return route before heading farther out.
Your cabin is the anchor for navigation. Face toward the first tree house: the altar sits in front of you and slightly to the right. Bring fish there to satisfy the lake’s daily demand.
| Landmark | Location or route | What you do there |
|---|---|---|
| Altar | In front and slightly right of the starting cabin, facing the first tree house | Deposit fish toward quota |
| Gambling pool | Across the wide water near the fishing dock, to the right, surrounded by bamboo | Gamble a fish’s point value |
| Raised secret-shop cabin | Cross the shallow river section near the cabin beneath the tree houses, then continue toward the raised building | Ring the bell to interact with the merchant |
| Capybara Island | Follow the river past the mountain beside the secret-shop area | Gather bait and reach elevated fishing positions |
| Lighthouse Island | Offshore, accessible by boat | Fish the surrounding ocean |
To reach the gambling pool from the tree houses, cross the bridge from the first tree house to the next, then descend to the right. Watch the approach for snakes. Gambling can increase or decrease a fish’s value, so finish quota before risking fish you need for survival.
The secret-shop route continues across the shallow river near the lower cabin. Look for the raised cabin beyond the small hill, climb the stairs, and ring the bell inside.
For navigation support, open the GONE Fishing interactive map. Its tools include a region selector, depth heatmap, structure filters, and custom pins saved locally. Check the selected region before using it to plan your Jungle route.
Find Deep Water Around the Tree Houses and Lighthouse
Depth matters on the GONE Fishing jungle map, but a long cast alone does not tell you how productive a spot will be. Equip a depth finder and check the water where your bobber lands.
Image: Steam / GONE Studios
Start by searching for water around 2,500 meters deep or deeper. Use that as a scouting target rather than a guaranteed legendary-fish threshold. Bait, fishing bonuses, and other catch factors also matter.
The elevated tree house around Capybara Island offers a useful place to experiment with casting distance. Earlier Jungle layouts supported casts around 2,600–2,900 meters from that position with upgraded equipment. Try shorter casts as well as full-distance casts: sending the bobber farther does not automatically place it over deeper water.
Around Lighthouse Island, explore from both shore and boat. Earlier layouts included fishing positions approaching 4,000 meters, while later island changes reduced access from land. Measure the cast in your current save instead of chasing an old shoreline position.
The GONE Fishing jungle map also separates ocean fishing from other water types. Several named fish specifically belong to its ocean.
| Fish | Jungle location | Tier or detail |
|---|---|---|
| Coney Grouper | Ocean | Added as a Jungle ocean catch |
| Lane Snapper | Ocean | Added as a Jungle ocean catch |
| Greater Amberjack | Ocean | Added as a Jungle ocean catch |
| Mahi Mahi | Ocean | Added as a Jungle ocean catch |
| Giant Squid | Ocean | Legendary fish |
Keep the squid names straight: Giant Squid belongs to the Jungle ocean; Colossal Squid is exclusive to the Arctic. Taking an Arctic target to a Jungle fishing spot wastes bait and daylight.
Avoid using a visible fin or tail as your only targeting method. Check depth, choose your bait, and work a measured spot. Repeated casts give you more useful information than moving whenever something breaks the surface.
Build a Repeatable Bait Route and Return Path
A sustainable GONE Fishing jungle map run needs bait you can replenish. The cave left of spawn and the rope-bridge areas provide a starting circuit, with spiders around the cave and gorillas associated with the elevated routes.

Collect available dynamite while exploring the cave. Use it to clear the blocked rope-bridge route, then incorporate the accessible bait areas into your daily travel. Leave enough room in your inventory before setting out so the trip produces supplies you can bring home.
Capybaras provide another bait option around the island route. Follow the river from the secret-shop area, then use the bamboo trail to climb toward the elevated structures. Watch the path ahead rather than sprinting into wildlife.
Treat the GONE Fishing jungle map’s anacondas and giant spiders as hazards while gathering. The bait is valuable, but losing a teammate or abandoning a catch creates more work than an extra pickup saves.
Version 1.0 also gives you overnight alternatives to constant gathering:
- Minnow, Crab, and Rabbit/Raccoon traps collect bait overnight and become harvestable in the morning.
- Fish Traps consume bait from your tacklebox and collect fish overnight.
- Fish Trap upgrades purchased from Jeb allow collection of up to three fish per bait.
Pair a bait trap with a Fish Trap to support your daily fishing routine. Keep manual bait runs focused on the supplies you need instead of revisiting every corner of the map.
For offshore travel, take the boat to Lighthouse Island. Paired wormholes offer another transport option: place one near home and the other near a fishing or bait destination.
An underwater tunnel also connects to Lighthouse Island from the island opposite it. Its entrances involve submerged sections. Use the boat while learning the route, and establish your return transport before committing the day’s catches to an offshore trip.
Use Version 1.0 Progression for Jungle Fishing
Older GONE Fishing jungle map strategies revolve around maximizing line, rod, and sinker upgrades. Version 1.0 changes progression by introducing eight upgradeable trinkets with effects that activate during fishing.
Image: Steam / GONE Studios
Trinkets are shared across the lobby. When someone buys or upgrades one, teammates receive it too. Coordinate purchases around the group’s current problem: running short on bait, spending too long reeling, or struggling to find higher-tier catches.
| Trinket | Effect |
|---|---|
| Iron worm | Chance to retain bait after catching a fish |
| Hungry hook | Chance to get an immediate bite when casting |
| Gambler's Doubloon | Chance to multiply a fish’s value |
| Devil's Ember | Chance to instantly smoke a caught fish |
| Deadman's Hand | Chance to instantly reel in a fish |
| Siren's Conch | Increases the odds of legendary and mythic fish |
| Captain's Stopwatch | Chance to perfectly complete the first strike minigame |
| Bassweiser | Chance to gain a buzz from catching a fish |
Combine Hungry hook, Captain's Stopwatch, and Deadman's Hand to cover the bite, first strike, and reel-in stages. When all three activate together, the catch enters your inventory as the bobber reaches the water.
For legendary hunting, work Siren's Conch into your progression. Its effect directly increases legendary and mythic catch odds. Keep checking depth and supplying suitable bait alongside that bonus.
The MOBY unlock has also changed. In version 1.0, defeat the boss to unlock the MOBY. Buying it from the Jungle secret shop belongs to earlier progression.
Perks offer additional choices. Fish Whisperer increases caught fish size by 5%, while Sticky Hook helps with aggressive fish. Choose around the obstacle you are facing rather than copying a setup built for a different stage of the game.
Version 1.0 also adjusts multiplayer costs and quota growth so they no longer scale linearly with player count. Share purchasing decisions and keep track of the altar together; personal catch totals alone do not tell you whether the team has finished its day.
Process Your Catch and Protect the Daily Quota
The GONE Fishing jungle map rewards more than finding deep water. You also need to decide which fish to sacrifice, sell, preserve, or turn into bait.
Bring catches home with time left for processing. A valuable fish sitting offshore cannot help the altar until you deliver it.
| Processing option | What it does | Timing or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Cooking | Increases fish value | Check that cooking has completed before using the fish |
| Smoking | Reduces losses from rot | Does not add extra point value |
| Clam | Converts a fish into a more valuable pearl | Requires leaving the fish overnight |
| Butcher table | Turns fish into bait | The bait produced depends on the fish’s value |
| Gambling pool | Raises or lowers fish value | The result can reduce your available quota value |
Cook fish before placing them in clams to build on their increased value. Save that overnight processing for catches you can spare after the current quota is covered.
Use the smoker when preserving fish for later days. Smoking reduces rot losses; it does not restore value already lost to rot. Check the fish’s cooked and smoked status in your inventory before deciding what to keep.
Avoid treating a successful gamble as preservation. Gambling a fish does not protect it from rot, so a larger number still needs attention if you intend to store it.
Run your day in this order:
- Harvest overnight traps and prepare spare bait.
- Gather additional bait along your planned route.
- Fish a measured spot with a return path ready.
- Deliver enough fish to complete quota.
- Process surplus catches and prepare for tomorrow.
At the altar, the flame turns blue when quota is met. Check it before sleeping instead of assuming another teammate finished the deposits.
Leave offshore fishing early enough to return before nighttime threats become a problem. Flying creatures can interrupt Lighthouse Island trips, and an extra cast is a poor trade when your existing catch is still waiting to reach home.
